7 Consejos para enseñar a tu hijo ahorrar

Los chicos están siendo educados de una manera materialista, siempre pensando en parecerse o tener lo mismo que sus vecinos tienen. Ven en la televisión todo tipo de juguetes y enseguida piensan que deben tenerlo.
La triste verdad es que a los niños no se les enseña como ahorrar para poder comprar lo que quieran, por eso, los padres somos los llamados a realizar esta labor. Aquí te doy algunos consejos para ayudarte en esta tarea:
1.- Muéstrales las cuentas: es importante ser honestos con ellos en materia financiera cuando ya tienen edad razonable. Hay que enseñarle las facturas que hay que pagar y de donde proviene el dinero para el pago de esas facturas. Esto los ayudará a entender las cuentas de ingresos y egresos.
2.- Enséñales a guardar el efectivo: cada vez que un chico recibe dinero en efectivo, hay que enseñarles que una parte de ese dinero se debe ahorrar en una alcancía o en una cuenta bancaria.
3.- Ábreles una cuenta bancaria: cuando alcanzan la edad de 9 o 10 años es aconsejable abrirles su primera cuenta bancaria para incentivarlos al ahorro. Esto los hará sentirse orgullosos y motivados a guardar dinero en su cuenta.
4.- Ayúdales a plantear sus objetivos: si quieren comprarse algo, traza con ellos el plan financiero de ahorro para alcanzar el valor de lo que quieren comprar. Funciona el recortar una imagen de lo que quieren y pegarla en su cuarto para que siempre estén motivados en ahorrar para lo que quieren comprar.
5.- Sé un modelo a seguir: esta es la mejor manera de enseñar a nuestros hijos, ellos repiten nuestro comportamiento, por lo tanto, si nosotros mismos somos juiciosos con el ahorro, esto lo tienden a imitar.
6.- Enséñales a gastar su dinero: cuando los niños reciben dinero lo primero que quieren hacer es comprarse algo, lo que hay que hacer es sentarse con ellos, preguntarles que es lo que se quieren comprar y revisar con ellos si realmente lo necesitan. Esto los hará pensar cada vez que quieran comprar algo.
7.- Háblales del futuro: a medida que los niños crecen es buenos mostrarles como crece el dinero con el interés compuesto. Por lo general los chicos se sorprenden de ver cómo crece el dinero por sí solo cuando lo dejas en la cuenta bancaria.
